EXHIBITIONS AND ART BOOK FAIRS

Scroll(s)Boston University, School of Visual Arts
2025

The theme of the 2025 Boston University Graphic Design Thesis Exhibition, “Scroll(s),” is meant to evoke both the parchment scrolls of antiquity and the ubiquitous act of scrolling on a digital device. The time spent in the MFA program can be understood as an ever-evolving scroll—one that unspools through a continuous stream of prompts and responses. Like the motion of a scroll, learning in this space is fluid, recursive, and full of momentum. In the exhibition, 20 student thesis projects are displayed longitudinally on long scrolls of paper fastened individually to tables that crosshatch and intersect with one another.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE

Teaching Assistant Typeface Design, Boston University
2025

Typeface Design is an advanced course taught by Christopher Sleboda and open to students in the MFA Graphic Design and BFA Graphic Design programs at Boston University. The course provides a rigorous introduction to the conceptual and technical processes involved in creating original digital typefaces. Students explore the foundations of letterform construction-including structure, proportion, counterform, spacing, and rhythm-while developing their own typefaces. Through research, sketching, and the use of digital tools like RoboFont, students engage with typographic history and contemporary practice to design functional and expressive typefaces.

Variables such as audience, context, authorship, and issues relevant to contemporary practice are investigated and discussed. Context-driven platforms for communication are explored as students consider how to reach both narrow and broad audiences across multiple mediums.
